Sharing the news of suicide
This section covers two topics: how to present information regarding a suicide to the media, and how to report on suicide if you’re a member of the media. Whichever role you play, it’s important to be sensitive to the effects suicide reporting can have on people in the community — especially vulnerable people at risk — and to present information in a way that is conducive to increasing the public’s awareness, knowledge and understanding of suicide in our community.
